Much quicker and easier to use than I thought, plus it matches my Manfrotto tripod. I love the control and precision, I should have bought one years ago.

I have two of these heads. But today, after multiple years using this head, the locking mechanism hedge loosened in the middle of a shoot. The camera could easily rock back and forth while locked on the head. If you take head and turn it upside down so that all three knobs are on the right side, you will see a small hex head. Make sure you have a allen hex to fit this. None of my hex wrenches would fit. I was able to make-shift tighten to finish the shoot but you don't want to be in a shoot without a proper fitting hex on this one.

This was purchased as a replacement for a 20+ year old Manfrotto 401 head. The new head works the same as the old one and accepts all the quick release plates from the old one. The one feature that is different is the bubble level in the new head is about half the size of the one in the old head. Is this a deal breaker? No. It just makes it harder for those of us with aging eyesight to see the bubble. Is it a real problem? No. It is still a great

Its just what I needed. I am using this with my Canon M50 and EOS-R. I wanted something that I could precisely adjust the tilt and rotation of the camera while viewing the flip-out screen from odd angles and in sometimes, confined spaces. Its just the right size for both of these cameras. Its sturdy and the big locking plate adds a lot of stability too! I expect to be able to use this head for years. Just like all Manfrotto gear, its built like a tank. Ordering from B&H was a snap and I received it in just a couple of days. Very Happy!
