This was a present bought due to previous good experience with Black & Decker hedgetrimmer and was very well received and used.

Sharp blades with wide aperture cut quite thick privet and shrub branches quite easily. Well worth considering at £42.99

Having previously had a cheaper cutter that had served me well many times I decided to upgrade and treat myself to a more expensive one. I used the Black & Decker hedge trimmer twice, once for a thin honeysuckle hedge which it did quickly and without fuss. The second time I decided to tackle something a bit more challenging, as I deliberately brought the 22mm cutter for... brambles! these were up to about 15mm. Initially it made short work of them, but then suddenly cut out with a bang, causing the house fuse to go as well. I tried changing the fuse in the plug, but it just blows as soon as I try and use it. Lesson learnt, save money, will buy the cheaper Von Haus I had previously or from a shop where I can take it back after 30 days!!!

Very disappointed with this hedge trimmer, it is cumbersome and hard to get started again in between pause cuts. Your hands and arms hurt pressing the left hand controller to connect with the right hand trigger to no effect so you are constantly waiting on it to get started again. Each time I think it’s broken or that I have cut through the cable. When it does get going it does the job. Perhaps it’s just the one I got. I am considering dumping it and trying something else because I dread having to use it When I see the hedge starting to grow again.
