I’m quite disappointed that this tablet does not take a SIM card and is Wi-Fi only. It’s therefore quite limited for my needs. I think it would be more suitable for kids, schoolwork, and basic home use where Wi-Fi is available.

Chosen for its relatively good energy rating, also because it is the “entry-level” model in the range, and above all because of Samsung’s promise of Android GooglePlay updates until the end of September 2032. Also and above all because a tablet heats up much less than a laptop, and that will matter for the summers to come; ultimately, that is what tipped the scales in my difficult choice. I did not give it 4 or 5 stars because of: the almost-right format, and also and above all because of Google’s (near-)monopoly among “affordable manufacturers”. Google-Android’s policies, which aim to kill alternative playstores and deny the original open-source spirit. The fact that tablets, like smartphones, are ultimately just disposable hardware, difficult and rarely convertible to an alternative at the end of their life (which is the end of software support). (Unlike PCs, which can all easily be converted to Linux).

after playing around with tablet for a bit, i find that it is quite good for kids. the screen is large enough for small hands to use. i have used google family link to connect this with my phone, so adult supervision and time limits are able to be applied to this tablet with no worries about content accessed that is not child appropriate. even when the time limit has been reached, one can still access some apps like the camera and voice recorder. the tablet is fast and has efficient internal storage. i like that samsung has guaranteed a 7 year android update, so i plan to only replace this tablet once updates are no longer viable.

It's a nice little tablet. I use it for reading and testing my app. For the price, exactly what I needed.
