L’Allen & Heath ZED-16FX est apprécié pour sa très bonne qualité sonore et ses préamplis micro DuoPre silencieux, que beaucoup considèrent comme un net progrès par rapport aux petites consoles d’entrée de gamme. Les effets intégrés avec 16 presets, surtout des reverbs et delays, sont souvent jugés musicaux et immédiatement exploitables pour les petits groupes et salles, ce qui évite généralement d’acheter un processeur externe. La console est solidement construite avec de longs faders ALPS de 100 mm et paraît fiable pour un usage intensif en live. Grâce à plusieurs envois aux et à une connexion USB 2 entrées/2 sorties simple, elle reste polyvalente pour la scène comme pour des enregistrements de base. En contrepartie, l’interface USB reste assez limitée techniquement, avec seulement du 16 bits/48 kHz en stéréo, ce qui peut freiner un usage studio plus poussé. Il n’y a pas non plus de compresseur par canal, il faut donc compter sur du matériel externe ou des plugins pour gérer la dynamique. Sa taille et son poids conviennent bien aux installations fixes, mais seront moins pratiques pour les utilisateurs très mobiles. Les acheteurs qui recherchent surtout une console fiable pour le live ou la répétition, avec un bon son et des effets intégrés, y trouveront un excellent rapport qualité-prix, tandis que ceux qui veulent un véritable enregistrement USB multipiste ou des outils de dynamique intégrés devront viser une gamme supérieure.

This ZED is equipped with USB1.1 which is too slow for recording with new computers running USB2 and/or USB3. However, I like the Duo preamp on the Mic channels. I can distinguish different sound quality from different microphones and XLR cables. If digital recording is your prime consideration, I would recommend you to go for other options.

Allen and Heath Mixer sounds so much better than other mixers. They sound warm and musical / natural sounding. There are no unnecessary hyped up highs and upper miss. Sounds more natural and easy to listen to compared to most mixers that get tiring and fatiguing after a while.

Rock solid construction, Good effects for he price range and good feature of sending effects through stage monitors. I run it from the stage on a rolling stand with JBL PRX 700 15's and subs. Easy set up with powered speakers and great sound and EQ.

We are using the ZED-16FX as replacements for the Mackie 1642 series of mixers in a mobile DJ/Karaoke enviroment. We basically got tired of ribbon cable problems on the Mackies, and decided to try something new. The unit feels solid out of the box, installed easily, and powered up without a glitch. Only time will tell how rugged they actually are. but at this point I am extremely happy with this mixer.

Upgraded from a Yamaha. I noticed how quiet the preamps immediately. he effects also sound great.We plat 4-6 times a week and needed something reliable. Im very happy about the purchase.
