I also own the TS55, but why the heck didn't they come up with this much sooner? Has served me well on smaller jobs.

this track saw changed my life. it's way safer than using a table saw to break down sheet goods. I can't compare it to other track saws, but if you want to make straight cuts this is wonderful. it makes a standard skill saw seem like a kindergartener drawing with a crayon. know that to be useful you also need the tracks which quite expensive.

This is pretty much THE saw if you're going to make furniture, cabinets, or anything that you want to do minimal cutting from start to finish. It really does remove the need of things like table saws and miter saws. I was able to begin woodworking as a total beginner and make perfect boxes, a sofa, and even a few chairs for my house. It's accurate, easy, and safe. One thing I would suggest- go ahead and order the biggest track you'll need for the length of cuts you make- it will save you time. As mentioned, I'm totally new to woodworking and I went ahead and purchased Festool assuming the quality would save me time and the learning curve- it did. 5 stars.

Does not have enough power to do long cuts (16'). The battery overheats and the saw shuts off. Probably the corded version is more stable. This is only good for light use. Other than that the cut quality is good.

Highly accurate saw when used with the track. Highly recommend getting the aluminum track with the saw for use on job sites when a table saw is not pratical.
