This lens is very sharp across the entire image. Lovely contrast and colour reproduction. It is quite big and heavy but not unduly so on my Nikon Z8.It is a great addition to my lens line up and am looking forward to using it more.

I previously purchased the 180-600 z lens. However, realised required a lens for close contact etc. great lens. Fast and way to use.

Purchased this to use on a Z9. I was expecting it to be good, but it's really really good. Also works very well with the 1.4 T/C. Great focal lengths for travel, close up and large wildlife and horse portraits.

Focus Breathing: NONE! Pretty impressive. And this is all I need from a Zoom lens. Sharpness: Beyond expectation. There are no purple or blue lines around the subject in focus. Feel: Sturdy and heavy. I like this feel, but others may need to use a tripod for long shooting sessions. Quietness: When I press the shutter halfway or the AF-ON button, I can hear the focus motor on the lens working quietly and constantly. This makes me nervous because I don't know if it works that way or if this is a defective unit. Bokeh: It's fine. This lens has 9 diaphragm blades, so I don't expect much from it. (Nikon has only three lenses so far with 11 blades: 85mm F1.2; Plena; and Noct). Other than that, this lens is amazing.
