Tonka Musk d’Alyssa Ashley met clairement en avant la fève tonka et le musc. Les avis décrivent souvent le parfum comme chaud, légèrement sucré et noisetté, avec une base de musc propre qui équilibre l’ensemble. C’est une fragrance orientale unisexe qui fonctionne bien en automne et en hiver, mais sa structure douce permet aussi de la porter au bureau en journée. Beaucoup apprécient le fait qu’elle ne soit pas trop lourde ni étouffante, ce qui la rend accessible à ceux qui n’aiment pas d’ordinaire les orientaux très puissants. En revanche, le côté sucré et poudré de la tonka est bien présent et peut sembler trop gourmand ou trop sucré pour certains. Un autre inconvénient pratique est que la marque et ce parfum sont moins largement distribués en boutiques physiques, ce qui complique les essais avant achat. Pour les amateurs de senteurs chaudes et réconfortantes à la tonka avec une touche de musc propre, Tonka Musk reste toutefois une option intéressante et abordable.

Recently at the dentist. One would rather be somewhere else. The familiar smell of disinfectant in the air. Then a cheerful, cinnamon-sweet Tonka bean aka ZFA sparkled past me. Her colleague immediately asked her about the fragrance that brightened the whole room. Tonka Musk. 5 minutes later, I had shopped. When the scent arrived after days, I was initially confused. This cinnamon sharpness with cognac hit my nose and overshadowed everything else. But after a short while, this disruptive note fades away, leaving a noble, spicy-not-sweet, creamy-refined Tonka scent, a marzipan croissant to spray on. Delicious and unpretentious.

I bought this fragrance because it was praised as an alternative to Shalimar L'Essence and the tonka really drew me in. At the time, I had no way to test Shalimar L'Essence. In the meantime, I am a proud owner of Shalimar L'Essence and must say, I see no resemblance. The AA fragrance is hardly noticeable even after intense spraying. Therefore, I can't really say what I am smelling. A hint of cream (tonka?). And after 1 hour, not even that anymore. What a shame!!
