Works great, I use it to host a game server, so all it does is sit ontop of a counter, but it was very easy to setup.

The HP Z2 mini is a powerful machine in a compact form factor. Like all new PCs, it is loaded with bloatware from the factory. Once I uninstalled the unessential packages, I doubled the ram to 64 GB and added another 2 TB PCIE drive. It runs fast and quietly, but the fan can get loud when it is under heavy load.

A great, faily powerful little workstation. Wish a stand were available to hold it on edge. Fan can get noisy at 25% CPU load and above. Almost silent at low CPU. Note that USB ports are on the unit's left side and back - no ports on the front.

System was installed 7/11/24 and was working very well. On 7/31/24 it started blue-screening and needed warranty service. A service ticket was opened on 8/1/24 and onsite was confirmed but could not come out until 8/5/24. On 8/5 they did not show. Rescheduled for 8/6. On 8/6 they did not show. Rescheduled for today, 8/7. Still waiting for them...

It is a nice small but powerful package that takes only a very small amount of desk space. In order to keep the small size, an oversize power brick is needed along with a long connecting wire. In some installations this won't make any difference. In others, it is another awkward box and wires that have to be located behind the computer. While the total number of USB I/O ports is adequet, more should have been located on the rear panel. The USB and headphone I/O should have been located on the front instead of the side. Would I buy one again? No. I think the standard Z2G9 is a better form factor for general use.
