Olympus ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO (Micro Four Thirds, Micro Four Thirds), Objectif, Noir

Really versatile camera and top quality lens kit in a very compact body. Builds strongly from a number of the OM1 range of features. Perfect for travelling and a wide range of general photography. The jpg images straight out of the camera are very high quality and useable.

The Olympus 12-45mm f/4 PRO has excellent performance and should be more than enough for almost every application including landscape, portrait, and even wide-angle widlife (assuming the wildlife doesn’t want to eat you). I do wish it was a bit sharper in the corners for close-up shots, but for most of what I want to do with this lens, it’s not a problem. It is also priced more reasonably than some more impressive lenses, so I would say the Olympus 12-45mm f/4 should be one of the first lenses you consider for Micro Four Thirds if you are looking for a standard zoom. Having had a few Olympus cameras in the past, the OM 5 is just simply lovely, small, light and compact, producing outstanding results if you know what your doing, a great street camera for sure but also capable for travel and landscape too.

The perfect camera and lens combo for recording your every day experience. Weather sealed so you do not have to worry about using in inclement weather.

IMO this lens is the perfect example of why I use M4/3 - it\'s small, lightweight and sharp corner to corner wide open, It is my \'standard\' lens and combined with a 75mm f1.8 for extra \'reach\' and shallow DoF covers 99% of my photography. The only problem is that I have to keep swapping it between my E-M1 Mk II and Pen F bodies !! I still have the 12-40mm f2.8 that came with my original E-M1, but never use it now. If I really NEED a wider aperture in this focal length range there is already a good selection at f/1.7 or f/1.8, although I feel both manufacturers have missed a significant gap in the market by not developing a 45mm f/1.4 PRO quality lens (The f/1.2 lenses are too big, heavy and expensive, while the IQ of the 45mm f/1.8 above f/4.0 confines it to portraiture and similar applications)
