I switched from Nikon D600 and some fine lenses, and shocked. Nikon kits for Nikon F DX are bad, seems Nikon Z kits too. This one is not. Never buy it for 300$ new, but for 100-150$ it is a great lens for travel and general use when you dont need a supreme bokeh. I bought it clearly understanding it`s limitations, and having some nice manual lenses like Jupiter 37a in hand for portraits and blur, but this one is a really nice to start with, much better than DSLR kit lenses are. If i wasn`t pixel-picker, i would`of leave it on a camera and just klick the button, high ISO of Fuji sensors are forgiving to such an f values. Worth bying used, convinient, sharp.

A genuine surprise, but a welcome one. I surmise that actual, real-world resolution improvements between Fuji’s sensors - the 16, then the 24 and now the 26mp have been slight to almost non-existent and that Fuji has launched this lens at the lower end of the market to make up for that. And in many ways it does.

For daylight shots, the quality, versatility, weight, size and price of this lens make it a must-have. Versatile back-up that you can carry in your pocket in case the prime lens you mounted doesnt quite work for a specific situation. I have only used it in the 15-25 mm range so far, but quality has been outstanding.

I kept this lens because it makes beautiful images, SOOC. I love the colors and contrast, more so than when shooting the XF 35mm f2. PROS: Lightweight. Feels like nothing on my X-E2s. Great for street and landscapes. Silent, fast auto focus. Super close focus. Plastic lens mount fits securely on camera body. CONS: It really drains my battery. I used to shoot 350 shots per battery. Now it's 190. Say goodbye to low light shots. The 3.5-5.6 aperture results in high ISO and slow shutter speeds. I took this lens to a concert and had maybe two keepers. The manual focus ring is a joke. Yes, it works, but it feels like a plastic happy meal toy. Bottom line is I recommend this lens for daylight, documentary and landscapes. If you shoot dark spaces and/or portraits, look elsewhere.

I wanted a zoom lens that started pretty wide to use on my XPro 2 and be light and small in keeping with the smallish camera that I was going to use it on . Also I did not have a lot of money to spend on it . I took a chance on the order and immediately had the opportunity to use it on the Milky Way , which was my main reason for wanting as wide an angle as I could get within my budget. I was very happy with my first attempt ever at photographing the the Milky Way . This lens made it easy for a beginner . And oh by the way my regular photos are pretty amazing for a Kit lens too . I have 3 primes for my Fuji X put I can picture this lens on my camera the most .
