Nikon kit longue-vue prostaff 3 + oculaire zoom 16-48

This is a good scope for the money especially at B&H which is a good $100 less than the best price on the internet. However the tripod is totally useless, very light and super shaky. Luckily I have a hefty camera tripod which fits the existing tripod mount on the scope. Excessive chromatic aberration past 30X magnification. Good for glassing 1/2 holes on regular target paper up to 175 yards in good daylight (will probably increase the distance on the fluorescent paper). Probably wouldn't use it for serious ornithology as the colors at large distance and high magnification will be messed up. Eye relief not super good, have to get my eyeball all the way up to the eyepiece. Don't buy if you don't have a separate heavy tripod.

This spotting scope is very clear. I can even read signs over 500 yards away with 48X. Great size for glassing deer or elk .
