I bought these binoculars initially for stargazing for which they do a great job. You have to hold them really steady or fix them to a mount otherwise you can't see any detail but with this magnification that's par for the course. The lenses are really clear with decent clarity. Well pleased with them.

Very happy with these binoculars, I'm glad I didn't go for a really cheap pair as these have very clear optics.

I gave this 3 stars because of Nikons quality issues, all 4 lens caps are next to useless, I've solved the eye cap covers by adding a small piece of felt to the inside of the caps, they now fit perfectly, the zoom control is very notchy, I honestly thought a product from Nikon would have had a smoother, slicker operation, the focusing is very smooth, positive and nice to use, the eye adjustment again works well, I prefer to remove my glasses and use the eye cups fully out, much more comfortable and really clear, the glasses themselves are I think quite excellent, I was tracking 2 buzzards this morning and could see their marking and face clearly while they were circulating above. Had the ancillaries been of better quality I'd have given this product 5 stars, where has Japanese pride in their quality gone?

As a keen photographer of wildlife I needed a pair of binoculars to supplement the others I’ve collected over the last 50 yrs. As a longtime user of Nikon lenses, decided to go with these and not disappointed. The clarity is first class and although for longer distances a tripod or monopod steadies the shake much better, they are also very useful handheld. They are also very tactile to hold with a very comfy soft feel to the body and both main depth adjustment and right eye adjustment are precise and very easy to operate. Altogether an excellent product.
