Sonic Mania Plus est salué pour son gameplay classique en 2D, son excellent level design et son ambiance nostalgique. L'ajout du mode Encore et de nouveaux personnages apporte du défi et de la rejouabilité. Les graphismes HD rétro et la bande-son sont très appréciés. Cependant, de nombreux joueurs trouvent que certains niveaux ressemblent trop aux anciens jeux Sonic et que les stages spéciaux du mode Encore sont inutilement difficiles. Il y a peu de vraies nouvelles zones, ce qui le rend moins innovant pour certains. Cela reste néanmoins l'une des meilleures expériences Sonic pour tous les fans.

The game is great and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes Sonic. Although I wished it had come with a few ps4 themes and a few more extra things for the extra money I spent.
