Steel Battalion Heavy Armor

Game seemed promising, but Kinect controls are clumsy at best. Need more distinction between movements.

I can't really review this game as I didn't see the requirement for Kinect in the listing. It's there, I just didn't see it. There should be a separate listing area for games requiring Kinect. Not worth purchasing Kinect to play.

The last time someone tried to sell us on a "hardcore game for Kinect" it was Rise of Nightmares. That should have been a warning. To quote Jurassic Park, the developers "were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." There's a reason why the old Steel Battlions succeeded with a special controller that had 40 buttons, while the new one fails with a special controller that doesn't have any: SOME GAMES NEED BUTTONS. Capcom could patch or re-release Heavy Armor with support for the original controller - and it should, because like Joy Ride Turbo it'll be Better Without Kinectâ„¢.

It has it's flaws but in the end, I enjoyed the game a lot. The game length isn't that long but you can replay missions after you beat it and change the fate for platoon members who may have died on your first play through on certain missions. There are also co-op missions which you can play solo or online and if you do good on them, you can unlock more equipment for your VT.
