NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 est une version soigneusement reconstruite qui améliore drastiquement la présentation visuelle avec des graphismes modernes, des modèles de personnages retravaillés et une bande-son entièrement réenregistrée. Le combat a été significativement modernisé au niveau de NieR: Automata avec un gameplay fluide à 60 FPS et des mécaniques améliorées comme le changement d'armes et le verrouillage de cible. Cependant, la conception originale du jeu reste largement intacte, ce qui signifie que les joueurs rencontrent encore de nombreuses quêtes de collecte simples, une variété d'ennemis limitée et l'absence de voyage rapide dans la première moitié. Le jeu fonctionne de manière stable sur PC sans les problèmes d'Automata, mais nécessite étonnamment 16 Go de RAM pour des performances optimales. Pour les fans, c'est la manière définitive de vivre l'histoire, mais les nouveaux venus doivent être conscients de la conception de quêtes datée malgré les améliorations modernes du gameplay.

It was so sad how this originally flew under most peoples' radars. During the time when fan faith in Squenix was really struggling, this seemed to quietly drop onto the scene in western markets, just with one of the best stories to ever come out of the legendary company. The existential themes grew deeper with the success of Automata, along with the seriously out of left field connection to freaking Drakengard. It will be interesting to finally play through as the brother, just to experience the sibling interaction, as opposed the father-daughter one we got.

This game was not for me. The combat system is interesting, but it doesn't really evolve. Leveling up isn't rewarding because you don't have stats/skill trees/etc. Killing enemies isn't rewarding because the item drops aren't super useful. Quests are boring and repetitive, mostly "deliver this to this person, collect X of this item for this person" etc., and the lack of a fast travel system becomes sooo tedious. Overall I don't think the game knows what it wants to be. The dialogue swaps between cheesy/young adult drama and heavy cursing/serious/insightful. I just really didn't enjoy much about this one, which is a shame because I put a lot of time in and really wanted to like it.

Can get very repetitive, but the weapons and magic are fun to use. The difficulty spikes massively towards the end as enemies gain armor, resistances, and some don’t flinch from attacks. Overall though, interesting characters and enemy designs made this enjoyable.

This game is amazing! The character are so well done, the story is a work of art on its own, and most importantly the gameplay is a dream. Combat is so smooth and with parrying, blocking, dodging, jumping, melee, and magical capabilities you can adapt the gameplay to your play style. After playing souls games, I personal dodge roll a lot… The combat isn’t very complex so even if you are new to gaming you can still enjoy this game!
