Xbox 360 Tales Of Vesperia Multicolore

The art direction in Vesperia is the series all-time high. Smooth, clean cel-shading with gorgeous painterly textured BGs. I wish Namco kept this anime cel shading style in their subsequent Tales releases.

This is a true hidden Gem for the PS3 console that is worthy of the title.

The combat is... Strange. Any time you engage in combat, everything stops for several seconds while you and your combatants are inexplicably transported into some sort of arena, disrupting the flow of the action. Combat is predominant of the side-scrolling, fighting-game style, and if that's not your cup of tea, you may find the challenge frustrating. Bosses will have a full gamut of special moves, even when you're at very low levels on Normal difficulty, and after several deaths you'll find yourself wondering what the game is expecting you to do. The story is somewhat interesting, but word-balloon-style dialogue with no facial animations breaks immersion. Would have been a worthy game ten years earlier, but RPG's have progressed way beyond this in terms of quality.

One of the best games I’ve played on the 360. It’s an rpg, but with a unique combat system that makes it real time, action. I have about 30 hrs gameplay so far, and there still seems a lot more to come. Story line is good along with the voice actors.
