Printer was awesome for the first year or so, then the print quality tanked, we would only get ghosts of pages, partial faded printing here and there. Followed all instructions on various HP support pages and forums, replaced the cartridge ( even though there original cartridge had printed less than 200 pages, replaced the roller under the cartridge which was indicated as the culprit for light or faded printing, cleaned many times, nothing worked or even made the slightest difference. I have spent more time attempting to fix this printer than it's worth. HP got our money for this printer, for a new cartridge, and for parts, none of which helped the problem at all. I bought an HP because the old ones were bulletproof. Now they insist on users purchasing their overpriced cartridges only, and the product quality has tanked, the warranties are not as long or as good. I will never spend money with HP again after this. I'm done with the company.

all though this is a great machine a real workhorse the biggest issue is the software, drivers etc. The software writers IT are more concerned with you buying their toner. i bought 5 for my office and we constantly have printers printing error nonsense computer code one to 2 lines per page anywhere from 10 to 100 pages, no way to stop short of unplugging the printer from the power outlet. This is extremely waste full and time-consuming. Our office staff and outside IT have tried everything, but there is no pattern as to when the software does this paper garbage print dump.

30 years in IT and I've never encountered a more difficult and time consuming hardware device to install. I had two of these to install today for a customer.. Took 2 hours total. It took 45 min each just to update the printer before you could even begin to start installation. It takes no less than 3 pieces of software and an online account to complete the installation. If I had purchased it for myself I would have boxed it back up the minute I saw it requires HP Smart or an online account and returned it.

Worthless piece of junk.. I have 18 years of computer background and never got it to print once don't buy this has to be online at all times to just print one oaper
