dont be fooled by the way they describe the operation of printer it does not scan its a great printer if thats all you need

My new Brother laser printer is durable, functions in accordance with its description, was easy to set up out and connect to my computer-- out of the box-- with zero technical assistance. Having purchased exclusively HP office equipment In past (always a Consumer Reports highly rated model), initially I purchased from Staples the best-rated new HP Laserjet printer --to replace my old HP Laserjet which had functioned perfectly over a decade with heavy use. Shockingly, the new HP printer would not connect or function without my authorizing HP to download onto my computer a printer use monitoring program coupled with a mandatory toner/ink purchase account and access to my credit card to charge me for this. Nothing in the HP packaged equipment disclosed this commercial tying arrangement. Not even Staples was aware of it. Staples took back the product without difficulty --my first return ever to Staples. Staples sales practices and product diversity continue to be exceptional!

A dedicated, economical, and highly reliable printer. A workhorse machine that I can always count on to work properly and produce an excellent copy. Never lets me down.

The new printer is a big improvement over the one it replaced. It is fast and prints clearly. It is a little loud but not bad.
