The Samsung 9100 Pro performs much as we expected with throughput in excess of 14GB/s and over 2 million IOPS. This SSD pretty much ran arm in arm with our earlier 4TB review of same. The 9100 Pro is manufactured for those media professionals and PC enthusiasts that need the storage space that 8TB can accomodate. It’s rather amusing as it wasn’t so long ago (ok maybe it was) that I sat with Samsung in a product briefing trying to ascertain why they wouldn’t market a 1TB SSD when so many others had. The Samsung 9100 Pro comes with a five-year limited warranty and MSRP for this SSD is $999.99, although we might bet it will be a bit lower on release. We haven’t seen release just yet but we are seeing pre-order opportunities. We believe it deserving to award the Samsung 9100 Pro our Gold Seal at this point and time. It has performance, great capacity points and a great 5-year warranty.
