Wanted a second external monitor for my laptop. One hooks to the HDMI out and one hooks to this. Works great right out of the box. Very pleased.

Needed second monitor for extended desktop. Used USB 3.0, monitor came up no hassle in 4K. Windows 11 Dell pc. Not a gamer so couldn't judge that.

Needed a USB to HDMI that would work with Linux. Plug and play. About 4x the cost of a cheap one that works for Windoze, but worth it. No trouble at all with Ubuntu 20.04.
