Bought this for my HP elite G8 because it’s got only one type of uSB so useful item but a bit pricey

The dock has two display ports, one VGA and one HDMI, but can only make use of one of them at a time. If you use the dock for pass-through charging it gets hot enough to warm your coffee cup. Given the relatively high price point (10 to 20% of the cost of the actual laptop) this seems pretty poor. - further starts for the fact that HP are nudging towards for HW lock-in, my 840 G8 laptop is unable to connect to older HP docks and the only dock that HP sell that will support my triple displays comes in at over $300. Not impressed.
