L’ABUS AirBreaker est un casque route haut de gamme surtout apprécié pour son poids extrêmement faible et sa ventilation très efficace. De profonds canaux de refroidissement, le design Multi Speed et la Forced Air Cooling gardent la tête bien au frais, même en montée et par forte chaleur. En parallèle, le casque offre de bonnes performances aérodynamiques, ce qui le rend populaire auprès des cyclistes exigeants et des équipes pros. La tenue est souvent décrite comme très confortable et stable grâce au système de réglage Zoom Ace et aux sangles plates et silencieuses, tandis que le porte-lunettes intégré est jugé pratique. En contrepartie, plusieurs sources soulignent l’absence de MIPS ou de technologie similaire de protection rotationnelle, un manque que certains trouvent regrettable à ce niveau de prix. Le tarif est d’ailleurs sensiblement plus élevé que celui de nombreux autres casques route. Enfin, la fixation des mousses par vis peut se révéler un peu contraignante lors du nettoyage ou du remplacement. Pour les cyclistes qui recherchent avant tout ventilation maximale, faible poids et performance, l’AirBreaker reste un excellent choix, à condition d’accepter l’absence de protection additionnelle et le prix plus élevé.

Wanted a helmet with great air flow and this is perfect. Light, doesn’t look huge and has really effective tightening to fit comfortably and very light.

I bought this after one of the strap clamps on my Cannondale helmet snapped, rendering it difficult to wear comfortably. The Airbreaker is a nice fit & comfortable, and after trying MANY different helmets, this is the first I found that didn't interfere with the top of my Sungod glasses (other makes were pressing down on the top of glasses frame causing discomfort and pushing the glasses into a less than optimal position, rendering them useless. Only minor niggle is that my previous helmet came with a detachable plastic cover which covered over a lot of the air vents for winter riding, but a thick neck tube should suffice?

Helmet sizing/fit is very much down to individual preference/dimensions so it’s not that this helmet is bad it just didn’t suit my head shape. The lack of adjustability of the straps meant that I couldn’t make this a comfortable fit. I typically use kask helmets as the fit suits me and I have gone back to this brand only for that reason. Otherwise it’s a great looking helmet.
