Sony Alpha A7R Mark II Boîtier

Although this camera body is going on 11years old, I bought it used in 2026 as a backup to my A7r5 and it still performs well. The 42mp sensor still produces a fine image with lots of detail and dynamic range.

I'd been using a Canon for quite a while and although it had alot of features, its size and weight made me reluctant to take it out. With the 7RM2 I pop it in my bag and take it out in a more relaxed way. I think its improved my shots

It's a bit slow and clunky and the battery life isn't great but... The image quality is lovely for printing, for decent crops and the sensor captures so much detail, it's a joy to see what has been captured. Get some half decent lenses and go out and shoot, forget about the gear and chase the light! The AF is pretty quick, and using back button focus really has helped me, along with eye AF. I mainly take photos of slower moving things and use a variety of budget primes , a sigma 100-400 and ...

I brought this 3 months ago and over time have tested out all the setting and features and come to the conclusion that even thought it is a old camera it still packs a punch
